Preschool (Age 3) - 8th Grade
We are an independent preparatory school dedicated to inspiring personal excellence and educating children for life.
Our school strives to prepare its students to participate in the discoveries and challenges of the future with the foundations of wisdom and personal discipline. We provide a nurturing and caring environment enhanced by a low teacher-student ratio. The school is interested in a personal learning approach that incorporates individual attention, hands-on experiential learning, and a challenging and well-rounded curriculum. We make every effort to hire the best teachers, to adopt the best curricula, and hold our school to the highest academic standards.
Our 360º approach to education is based on our belief that students must learn how to think analytically, to solve problems, to utilize their strengths, to face challenges, to make good decisions, and to communicate effectively. In preparing students to live comfortably in an ever-changing and diverse society, we wish to move our students beyond tolerating people different from themselves to engaging all people as valuable members of a global society. Their future depends on our willingness to learn and to share with them about the realities of what it means to be ethical, inclusive, and human in a competitive technological age.

Junior K - 12th grade
The Latin Experience
Latin School of Chicago is the oldest independent school in Chicago, serving 1,100 students in junior kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school's mission is to provide students with a rigorous, innovative education in a community that embraces diversity of people, cultures and ideas.
Our students are intellectually curious and are supported by outstanding teachers in a program that is academically challenging and personally supportive. Through small class sizes and low student-to-faculty ratio, teachers and students develop relationships that encourage a lifelong love of learning. To enrich their classroom experience, we provide our students with state-of-the-art technology, science, computer and art facilities, a 500-seat theater, a swimming pool, and an environmentally-sound green roof.
Outside the classroom, our students are active on the playing fields and the stage, in the studios, and the community. Latin recognizes the fundamental importance of honesty, civility, and public service. We celebrate diversity in all its forms and believe that welcoming students and teachers from different backgrounds enriches our community. To increase accessibility, the school offers more than $3 million in need-based scholarships to students annually. Ages 3 -14
Near North Montessori School was founded in 1963 as an alternative to traditional education. We are a fully accredited, non-profit institution that serves over 500 students in the Chicago area from primary to the junior high level.
We recognize that children progress at their own rate and our programs are designed to accommodate all students. Near North classes are based on multiple-year age groupings, e.g. 3-6 year olds, 6-9 year olds. While our classrooms and materials are highly structured, learning is not. Students progress at their own pace in a non-competitive atmosphere. Our skilled Montessori-trained teachers guide their students through a balance of individual instruction, small group lessons and unstructured time. In this way your child learns self-discipline and initiative as well as competence.
Near North Montessori is committed to diversity in our school. Our goal is to provide a balanced environment that attracts, respects and honors all cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, and to encourage our children to take pride in the unique family heritage that each individual possesses, including their own. A Montessori education goes hand in hand with this philosophy and aims to provide children with a sense of community and belonging that will last a lifetime.
