WASHINGTON

The Bush School
3400 E. Harrison St., Seattle, WA  98112
206-322-7978, www.bush.edu
K - 12th grade
The Bush School, the oldest K-12 school in Seattle, is preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.  Our educational program is built on three foundations:  1) critical, independent, and creative thinking; 2) global citizenship and cultural competency; and 3) ethical thinking and action.

Within small classes (average size 14) students build close relationships with teachers through a wide variety of experiential and service learning programs that complement the challenging educational program.  Strong drama, music, and fine art programs guide students towards original composition and performance.  New sports complex and fitness center encourage a high level of sports participation.  Full-time Diversity Director, Diversity Speaker Series open to the public, multicultural curriculum, special consideration given to applicants who bring diversity into the school community, and faculty-staff Diversity Action Committee all support our commitment to teaching students to understand and learn from one another's differences.

Our school's mission is to spark in students of diverse backgrounds and talents a passion for learning, accomplishment, and contribution to their communities.  Would you like to learn more?  Contact Johnica Hopkins at johnica.hopkins@bush.edu or 206-326-7736 for information on our Open Houses, or visit www.bush.edu.

Three Cedars Waldorf School
556 - 124th Ave. N.E. Bellevue, WA 98005
425-401-9874, www.threecedars.org, info@threecedars.org
Waldorf PS/K - 8 grade
Three Cedars offers Waldorf early childhood through eighth grade education in Bellevue, with a developmentally appropriate, experience-based curriculum.  We integrate academic rigor with artistic discipline and kinesthetic engagement, so that each student may develop, fully, his/her unique capacities.  Working from an understanding of the distinct, developmental phases of childhood, our teachers provide meaningful support for each phase, bringing age-appropriate content that nourishes healthy growth, each step of the way.   The original motivation for the Waldorf education movement was to promote the peaceful evolution of humankind by leading children away from narrow interests toward a broad worldview.  Three Cedars Waldorf School continues the active development of that tradition.  Consequently, it is out of deliberate policy that we offer Waldorf education to families who desire it for their children regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, class, gender, sexual orientation, family structure, or, to the extent our resources permit, their ability to pay.  "Accessible to all" tuition level adjustments are available to approximately 40% of our students.  Please schedule a School Tour!  Many parenting lectures and workshops are open to the public.
