Gay Parent magazine is the longest running, nationally distributed publication dedicated to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parenting (LGBT).

In September 1998, Gay Parent magazine's (GPM) web site was launched online. Within two hours email from enthusiastic readers began pouring in. Gay Parent magazine's first print issue was published one month later. GPM is published bi-monthly and distributed mainly free through gay community centers and bookstores across the USA. Gay Parent magazine's focus is to support and empower LGBT parents and  LGBTs wishing to become first time parents.

In 2003, the first issue of New York Gay Parent Guide was published. This magazine is published annually and  distributed only in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and targets LGBT parents living in this area. In 2006 the guide's name was changed to Gay Parent magazine-New York.
