Product Description

Considering family building through assisted reproduction for a biological child? Our 19th annual issue includes a directory of LGBTQ friendly assisted reproduction companies to help build your family. Our cover family is Diane and Kristin Ponist of Florida and their six children. They have one biological child and five adopted through foster care. Diane and Kristin write a blog about their experience with foster care and adoption and have helped over 400 families that reach out to them through their blog regarding the subject.

Gay Parent Magazine will reach its milestone 20th anniversary issue at the end of 2018. To kick off our anniversary we're revisiting some of the families that we've featured in our previous issues with a series of family update articles. In this issue, Beverly Prince-Sayward of Michigan writes about how her three children are now teenagers since we last featured them in 2011. She also writes about her relationship with her wife Kat and recalls the experience of her children’s births.

This issue also includes our 19th annual LGBTQ friendly summer camps and programs resource directory (also featured in our January-February issue). In addition to the directory, this issue features two advertiser spotlight articles, one on Camp Woolman, where every camper goes on an overnight backpacking trip to the majestic Sierra Nevada. Camp Woolman is a gender friendly non-binary facility located in California. Also featured is Camp Little Notch in beautiful upstate New York. Camp Little Notch originally served as the summer home for the Girl Scouts from the Albany area.

Spring is just around the corner so now is a good time to think about making travel plans with the family. In this issue two great LGBTQ friendly vacation ideas are featured: The Inn at East Hill Farm and The Highlands Inn. Both are located in New Hampshire. In this issue author Dawn Dais talks about how being a mom led her to write her tongue-in-cheek book, Sh!t No One Tells You About Pregnancy. We feature another installment of our parenting advice column, No Drama Mama by Flavia Francesquini where Flavia gives advice to a woman who is having triplets but also had a traumatic experience. Editorial contributor to this issue includes Deadra Albrecht-Frasch.
