Product Description

Meet our cover family, Raymond and Daniel Stazzone: two city boys who fell in love with one another, and with farm life, moving their ever-growing family to rural New York to work the land. Mighty Whimp Farms is where the Stazzone family raises goats, chickens, and sheep and creates farm-made products they sell to the public.

May is National Foster Care Awareness month and included is a list of LGBTQ friendly foster care and adoption agencies that can assist in building your family. In this issue we feature two stories from RaiseAChild’s Let Love Define Family series (a series of stories featuring LGBTQ families that were built through foster care and adoption; RaiseAChild is the leader in the recruitment and support of LGBT and all prospective parents interested in building families through fostering and adopting). In this issue we feature Nikki Dismuke-Johnson and Deasia Johnson; they were the first same gender couple to legally marry in Guam and now they’re proud foster parents. The second Let Love Define Family article features Amber and Anuilagi “Nani” Ames, a couple in there twenties that hope to inspire other young LGBTQ people to be foster care parents. Also in this issue, Aubrey Dubra and Clark Ray share how becoming fost-adopt parents through Washington DC’s Child and Family Services Agency “transformed their life.”

As stories of LGBTQ marriage increase, so do stories of divorce and custody. Other family stories in this issue include two stories about a parent fighting for custody of their children: Chris Strickland of Mississippi and Delana Guinn of Delaware.

Need family travel ideas? We have four fabulous suggestions in this issue. One of the suggestions is from Kaley Fry, second-generation queerspawn and COLAGE National Program Director.
